Free Websites - Are They Really Free?

There is a proliferation of vendors now offering free websites on the internet. This is normally done in conjunction with a purchase or subscription to a newsletter. So, although you do not pay for the website, you still pay either for the product you purchase or your contact details. The usual products that include a free website are online money-making opportunities.

Website with a Product
You will get a turnkey website designed to sell the same product that you bought. This is just another method of marketing the product and making you an affiliate of the vendor that sold you the product. Provided you did your research before purchasing, this might not be a bad idea. Lets face it, who better than an existing customer to market a product?

The drawbacks to this system are that you are generally locked in in two ways:
1.The vendor will specify the hosting company, which means that the vendor has some kind of deal with them.
2.There is normally advertising of some sort that you are not allowed to change. The advertising could take the form of a banner with a link directly to the vendors sales page or the original offer of a free website provided by the vendor. The latter gives the vendor the opportunity to build a list of potential customers through your efforts.

Website by subscribing to a newsletter
You get a turnkey website specifically designed to sell the product of the vendor giving you the website. The same two drawbacks hold true for this system as well.

In both instances there are certain things to be wary of. The hidden cost of getting the website live. This includes purchasing a domain name and hosting the website. In most cases you can purchase your domain name separately although you will still have to pay a small fee to the hosting company to transfer the name. You will also have to pay the hosting fee which, since you cannot shop around, is not usually the cheapest or offers the best service.

Another major negative is that you do not have full control over the website. As explained earlier, there will be some form of advertising on the website. This might not fit in with how you want your website to look. Even with a little bit of knowledge of html, you will struggle to change most of the features on the website. This puts you at a disadvantage since the vendor can change their website at any time, taking full advantage of any changes in the marketplace. This can become significant because you will be required to pay hosting fees for a year up front.

There is no teacher like experience and this has taught me, sometimes painfully, the knowledge I share with you. That knowledge is reflected in the products I endorse on my websites. Vanitha Arumugam is an affiliate marketer who owns http://www.vanles.net and http://www.varnles.com

Try These Home Remedies for Heartburn

Heartburn can strike at anytime. It is frequently encountered after a large meal, but it can also occur for no apparent reason at all. Frequent sufferers have their medication nearby, but it can be a good idea to keep some natural home remedies for heartburn in the cupboard, for those occasional attacks.

Here are some common home remedies that have been passes down over the generations to sooth the discomforts of heartburn.

  1. Apple Cider Vinegar - This sounds like a crazy idea, to add more acid to your stomach when you feel it is already on fire, but there is sound reasoning behind it. Organic apple cider vinegar contains natural enzymes that help your stomach digest food more quickly, and reduce the symptoms of heartburn. You only use a small amount, and processed apple cider vinegar will not work for heartburn.
  2. Fennel Tea- Simply pour boiling water over 2 heaping teaspoonfuls of fennel seeds, and let it steep for several minutes. This is generally a quick and effective treatment of heartburn. You will notice relief by the time you are done your cup of tea.
  3. Peppermint- Chewing on washed leaves and stems of the peppermint plant will provide relief from an episode of heartburn. You can also chop the leaves, and steep them into tea if you prefer.
  4. Water- Drinking a glass of pure cold water can provide temporary relief. This works by diluting your stomach acid temporarily. Your symptoms may quickly return, but it can provide relief while you find another solution.
  5. Loosen your belt- Tight clothing can put pressure on your stomach, causing the acid to start backing up. Loosening the pressure can provide almost immediate relief, and of course, is much more comfortable.

These simple home remedies can provide quick relief for occasional heartburn. If you find it becomes a frequent occurrence, more than three times a week, you should visit your health professional to ensure that nothing more serious is developing. Heartburn can be the first symptom of a more serious condition, such as acid reflux, which can damage the lining to your esophagus, and cause other health problems. The occasional episode is nothing to cause concern, and with the help of these home remedies, heartburn can be quickly eliminated.

Discover a simple test to determine how acidic you really are, and the safe, all natural, guaranteed cure for heartburn and digestive problems at http://www.AcidsRefluxSolution.com/

Drag Racing - Take It Off The Street And To The Strip

Drag racing, a contest between two cars starting from dead stop to determine which car can accelerate quicker to a given point. Drag racing started in the 1930s where competitors raced along desert stretches of road to see whos hot rod was faster. Over the coming years the sport became more organized and the National Hot Rod Association was formed in 1951. 54 years later, the NHRA is now the largest sanctioning body in motorsports with over 80,000 members.

Most people probably got their start with drag racing on the streets, sitting at a light when your neighbor or friend pulls up, both of you itching for the light to finally turn green so you both can hammer the throttle and see who could get to the next light first. Theres no doubt that its exciting, anticipating the green light, just waiting for the right moment to send the tires screeching for traction to get the edge on the car just a few feet to your side.

With improvements in automotive technology and manufacturing, faster and more powerful cars are being released each year. Cars on the low end include the $20,000 Dodge Neon SRT-4, with a 230 horsepower turbocharged engine that can do 0-60 MPH in 5.5 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 13.9 seconds. High-end cars such as the $189,000 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG, with its 604 horsepower twin- turbocharged V12 engine can do 0-60 in less than 4 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 11.6 seconds. These cars are made to be fun and exciting, but its important to exercise restrain on the city streets with them.

Most people who purchase a high performance vehicle want to take it out and see what it can do, especially against other cars. While its tempting to do this on the city streets, its also very dangerous. Not only are there severe penalties for drag racing on public roads, it also endangers many others on the street. Many lives have been lost due to drag racing contests on city streets.

There are hundreds of places to test our your cars performance in a safe and regulated environment, your local Drag Strip. Drag racing facilities are specially equipped for testing how quick you can get your car from 0 to 1320 feet, more commonly known as the 1/4 mile. Most tracks operate in a similar fashion and have special nights set aside for normal street cars to test and tune or drag race the 1/4 mile for a nominal fee of $10 - $20. The track will have paramedics and other safety personal ready to respond to any accidents should they occur.

Each car that will be racing is given a tech inspection to make certain that is safe to compete in the 1/4 mile contest. After the car has passed inspection, its time to line up and get ready to race. Two cars are signaled by track personnel to pull up to the staging area, a portion of the track used to line up the two cars evenly at the starting line. The Christmas Tree is a setup of lights used to line up both cars and signal the start of the race.

At the top of the Christmas Tree are the Pre-Stage bulbs, as the drivers pull slowly forward to the starting line, they will activate the Pre-Stage bulbs. These bulbs indicate the cars are very close to the starting line. As the drivers continue to move slowly forward, the 2nd set of bulbs, the Stage bulbs will illuminate. When both Pre-Stage and Stage bulbs for both cars are illuminated, the cars are lined up and ready to go. At this point the track personal will activate the Christmas Tree to start the race.

Upon activation, the Christmas Tree will begin flashing a series of lights. Starting from under the Stage bulbs, there are 3 amber lights, followed by a green light, and then finally a red light. Each light is flashed a half-second apart ; amber amber amber green. Once the green lights are on, both cars should be rocketing down the drag strip 1320 feet towards the finish line. If either car leaves the starting line too quickly, the red light is flashed, and that car automatically loses the race.

After passing through the finishing line there will be a long stretch of road to allow the cars to slow down. There are usually a few exits from the track along the way for the cars to turn around and head back to the timeslip booth to pickup a printed ticket containing the details of their race. The timeslip will usually show how long in seconds it took to get to various points down the track; 60, 330 , 1000, and 1320. It will also data on how fast the car was traveling in MPH at the half-way point (1/8 mile) and finish line (1/4 mile), and of course who won the race.

Racing at the drag strip is a great way to safely and legally test out the capabilities of your car while improving your driving skills at the same time. Its also a great place to meet up with other people with similar interests. So the next time your sitting at a stop light and the car next to you is instigating you into a drag race by revving his engine, tell em to take it off the street and to the strip!

Chevrolet Looks Forward To Winning At Michigan

Chevrolets dominate this years Nextel Cup season. But history reflects that success is elusive at the Michigan International Speedway (MIS). In the last eleven Cup races, MIS winners have driven either Fords or Dodges.

To note, Chevrolets have accumulated only two of the last 22 races at the venue. This is why the team is adamant yet cautiously optimistic about the Sundays Michigan 400 race. Despite the fact that Chevy grabbed the top-three spots and eight of the top nine during Fridays qualifying, the team is not that certain to get the top spot this Sunday.

Johnson said that he is not sure why Chevys have struggled so much at MIS. The last Chevy driver to win at the MIS was Gordon. And that was when he captured the Kmart 400 in 2001. In 1998, Gordon also won the Pepsi 400 presented by DeVilbiss at the track. "It's weird how certain tracks favor certain teams," Johnson noted.

In recent years, the MIS has favored Jack Roush's teams. In August, Matt Kenseth, the driver of Roush's No. 17 Ford, won the last race capturing the GFS Marketplace 400. "Manufacturers, unfortunately, have their hands tied and can't do a lot," Johnson said. "It really revolves around the teams. And this has been a Roush track, for whatever reason. I know Jeff has won here... but it kind of falls into being a Roush track. They carry the Ford logo, so thus it's been considered a Ford track, too.

Johnson added, "I think that the Chevy teams have been close here. I know from my own experience, we were running up front in the fall here and had a flat tire. I've personally had a lot of crazy things happened to me late in races here, whether it's strategy, running out of fuel, tire failures. We just haven't had the finishes we thought we would. But if you look at the statistics probably up to the two-thirds mark, Chevy teams are in contention - but when the checkered falls, weird things happen. I don't know why, but the statistics certainly show that Ford camp seems to rule here."

Aside from Fords, Dodges also grabbed several victories at MIS. Ray Evernham racked up two wins in his Dodges in between, and Roger Penske gained two wins in his Dodges on the other end of Roush's streak.

"Everybody looks at it differently," said Elliott Sadler, the driver of the No. 19 Dodge owned by Evernham that qualified terribly Friday and will start in the 39th position Sunday. "You are looking at past history. Coming to Michigan, I look at who ran well at Charlotte and who ran well at Texas. Chevrolets ran good at both of those racetracks.

Kenseth struggled in qualifying Friday. He will start on Row 13 in the 26th position. But he said that he always looks forward to running at MIS - as do most drivers, he added. "We've had good racecars here in the past," Kenseth said. "It's a really fun track for the drivers.

J.J. Yeley, the driver of the No. 18 Chevy powered by Joe Gibbs Racing was the pole winner. It was his first career pole. Jimmie Johnson, the driver of the No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports machine, qualified second. He will start in the front row alongside Yeley. Lame-duck Hendrick driver Kyle Busch will start in the third position, followed by Ryan Newman, the driver of the No. 12 Dodge. Kurt Busch, driver of the No. 2 Dodge and Newman's Penske Racing teammate, will start in the tenth position. The Sundays race is expected to be as smooth as the performance of the window motor.

Get Your Life Back With Reverse Mortgage Association

As you get older the options for you to earn income become increasingly limited. However, just because you retire and switch your source of income to social security, your invested savings or a 401K you established while working does not mean that you have to live a life of abject frugality or poverty.

The Reverse Mortgage Association is an association that is dedicated to helping you regain your financial independence in your old age. There is simply no reason why you have to start getting cheap about everything you purchase simply because your finances have switched over to a fixed income. If you want to keep your financial independence and you are over 62 years of age, then a reverse mortgage from the Reverse Mortgage Association may be just what you need to keep lifestyle intact.

Many people decide they want to retire and then realize that they did not have enough money reserved for the lifestyle they wanted or they may live in luxury for a few years and then become overwhelmed by financial burdens that creep for one reason or another. This lack of preparation for the future forces them back into the workforce most often with reduced earning capacity. The Reverse Mortgage Association does not want you to fall into that same retirement trap.

With a reverse mortgage, the bank pays you for your house while you keep living in it for as long as you want. This gives you a steady flow of money that can help you at a time when you need it most to pay for the late-in-life activities you enjoy or cover unexpected bills and expenses. The benefits of reverse mortgage are that you get a steady source of income while being able to live in your house as long as you want. When you desire to move or when you pass away, the ownership of the house is then passed to the Reverse Mortgage Association instead of becoming part of, and potentially a burden of, your estate.

To find relevant details on something specific such as reverse mortgages ask your friends and co-workers for info they may have found out on it. You can also look up various groups on the web that discuss things such as newsgroups and forums. There is one on so many topics and you can post your own question. See below for more information on Reverse Mortgage Association.

Foreclosure Investing Lesson at a Hockey Game

You'd be amazed where you'll learn things about how to be a better foreclosure investor. This article is about a real estate investing lesson I learned at, of all places, a hockey game.

Im a huge Colorado Avalanche fan and I attend every single play-off game that the Avalanche play in Denver. In 2002, the Avalanche played the Minnesota Wild and were knocked out in the first round of play-off.

I went down to the Blue Sky Room in the Pepsi Center to have a beer at the end of the game and relax a bit. Over in the corner, sitting by the fireplace, I recognized the owner of the Avalanche, a guy by the name of Stan Kronke. Kronke built his empire through real estate. He starting off investing in houses and graduated to commercial projects, strip centers and other very large projects. Kronke had amassed a fortune and was involved in the ownership of the Denver Nuggets, the St Louis Rams, the Colorado Avalanche and owns the Pepsi Center.

Having no fear whatsoever in meeting people, I decided to walk up to Kronke and ask him about the real estate business.

I walked up to him and introduced myself. His response was, I dont know why our team lost--well go get them next year. And I told him thats not why I was talking to him. I said I really wanted to talk to him about business. At that point, he really perked up, because nobody at the Pepsi Center ever talked to him about business. They always talked about his sports team.

So he asked me to sit down and we talked for about 15 minutes. I said, Clearly youve been very successful Mr. Kronke. And the nice guy that he is, he said, Call me Stan.

I asked him about his business, why he was so successful in real estate and what it takes to be successful in real estate.

He said absolutely the number one component of being successful in real estate is your network of people. He said: Rarely do I market anything anymore. I have people who call me from all over the world with real estate deals because they know I have the means to fund their deals. I look at their deals, help them make money and at the same time help me make money.

So heres a guy who's made a fortune in real estate and owns sports teams and he says the most critical component to the real estate business is your network of people! To this day, the number one thing I focus on to help improve my foreclosure investing business is my network of people.

The Basis of Mesothelioma Lawsuits

One type of lawsuit which is arising more frequently these days is that relating to mesothelioma. Mesothelioma is a type of cancer that is caused by asbestos exposure. When an individual is diagnosed with mesothelioma, the individual usually has malignant cells within the pleura and peritoneum areas of the body. This is a type of disease which proves fatal for approximately 3,000 individuals annually. Individuals who contract this disease will frequently pursue legal avenues in order to take action and request compensation for their current situation.

How Mesothelioma Lawsuits Arise

When individuals develop Mesothelioma as a result of asbestos exposure, these people often want to pursue legal recourse as they feel that they are entitled to compensation for their pain and suffering. Mesothelioma, and any type of cancer for that matter, is a horrible road to travel and if the cancer was due to the negligence of another person, the individual wronged has a right to pursue this in a court of law. Lawsuits of this type usually evolve after an individual has consulted with an attorney who practices asbestos litigation and if the attorney advises the client to do so, the individual may choose to litigate.

How Long Mesothelioma Lawsuits Take to Complete

As with any type of case, lawsuits can be particularly lengthy and arduous at times. However, in order to truly assert ones rights, access to pursue an action in a court of law is entirely necessary. Generally, due to the complex nature of these types of lawsuits, cases of this sort may take awhile to complete, years even. However, settlements and compliant parties make lawsuit time lengths drastically shorter than they could be. Regardless of how long it takes to resolve an action, it is important that individuals assert their rights should they desire to do so.

Mesothelioma is a deadly disease whereby individuals who have fallen victim to mesothelioma due to the wrongful actions of others should have a right to take legal action should they feel it is in their best interest to do so.

The Big Clamp Down On Uninsured Drivers

While the majority of people on the roads have a moan and groan about the cost of our car insurance, we would never, ever consider getting behind the wheel without being insured. If you were to get into an accident and you werent insured where would you get the cash from to pay out for not only the repairs to your car but also the other car? On top of this you would face heavy fines and prosecution for driving while not having insurance, we might moan and groan but we do have the sense to know how valuable car insurance is and do the right thing.

However statistics have shown that an alarming amount of drivers are in fact out there and driving around on the roads without having taken out car insurance. It is also a fact that it is the insured driver that is nine times more likely to be involved in an accident than those who do have car insurance. It is believed this is due to the fact that very often the uninsured driver is usually the one that is driving around in a car that is not roadworthy.

When it comes to culprits such as these is it also three times more likely that they have had previous convictions of careless driving and 10 ten times more likely that they drive while under the influence of alcohol and have been previously convicted of a drink driving offense.

With this is mind police are clamping down on the uninsured driver and while this is an excellent thing, unfortunately it is also the insured motorist that is also being cracked down on too. The reason behind this is the way that the system works, the system currently used to pick up on and crack down on the uninsured motorist is by checking records with the Motor Insurance Bureau.

This system shows up the cars that dont currently have insurance, however if you have always had car insurance and are currently in the process of renewing it then it could take a couple of days for this to show up on the records. If the records are checked during this time then you could show up as not having car insurance and be clamped down on. While the majority of people can of course prove they do have insurance it is a huge inconvenience.

In order to stop this happening you should arrange to change your car insurance over as quickly as possible and carry documentation to prove you are doing so and when it comes to buying your insurance buy online and get several quotes for the best and cheapest deal possible.

David Thomson is Chief Executive of BestDealInsurance an independent specialist broker dedicated to giving consumers the best insurance deal. They offer great value car insurance, ensuring that their clients have the protection they need, without leaving a hole in their pocket.

Fees, Fees, Fees - Are They Really Necessary?

Unfortunately when you are dealing with real estate there are always going to be fees and closing costs involved in the process. Even if you are not obtaining a mortgage on the property, there will still be fees associated with the real estate transfer, such as a recording fee, transfer fee, title/attorney fees, notary fees, doc stamp, etc... Even if you are obtaining a mortgage on the property and you are using a lender that is advertising no closing costs or no fees, chances are you will still have to pay for items such as an appraisal fee, your 1st year of homeowners insurance, your tax and insurance impound account deposit, and quite possibly an application fee.But how can these lenders avoid all of the other fees that you have heard about or noticed in prior real estate transactions. The answer is very simple, they "jack up" your interest rate on your mortgage loan to account, for the amount of money you would have had in fees, and then some. Many of these lenders advertising no closing costs or fees will even add a pre-payment penalty to your loan to make sure that you stay in it for at least a few years so that they can recover the money that they paid for your closing costs.

So what are all of these fees for and what do they do for you? We will not discuss every individual fee in this article, but we will focus on the main fees and charges. First, we have the appraisal fee. This one is pretty self explanatory, as you want to make sure the home is worth what you are going to pay. Next, we have your lender fees such as underwriting and such. These fees compensate the lender for reviewing the file, making sure the file adheres to the lending institutions guidelines and policies and normally to FNMA and FHLMC's guidelines as well. Third, we have origination fees and/or broker fees. Usually, you will have these fees if you work with a mortgage broker or a mortgage banker.

A mortgage broker will shop your loan around and will almost always find you a considerably lower rate than what you would be able to qualify for on your own with the same lender. Therefore, they charge a fee for this service. Fourth, we have your title company fees. Many times the total fees here for the title company will be the largest chunk of fees charged. The title company fees guarantee that you receive a clear title, insure the title, insure the loan is properly recorded and notarized, and make sure all of the money is properly disbursed accordingly. Finally, you have your miscellaneous fees such as survey, endorsements, doc stamps, wire fees, etc... that are not always necessary but depend on the type of loan and the lender's policies.

Therefore, even though sometimes the fees can seem a bit much, mainly they are all there for your benefit and protection. Anytime you are considering a no cost or no fee mortgage, make sure that you have no intention to keep that loan more than a few years. If you decide to go with a no fee loan and keep it longer than that, you will end up paying much more over the life of the loan than had you just paid the closing costs. If you are planning to stay in the home for a number of years, then paying the closing costs and taking the lowest possible rate will probably be in your best interest and will save you the most money in the long run. Also, some of your closing costs may be tax deductible. You can also have the seller of the home you are buying pay your closing costs by negotiating that into the price. There are many options that surround you when dealing with fees and real estate, just make sure you understand your options and you make the best decision for your finances.

The author of this article, Dave Zwierecki, has over 10 years of experience in the credit and mortgage lending fields. http://www.gofirstsecurity.com/Florida/closing_costs.htm
